PIERRE BLANCET
GENERAL MANAGER (CLUB SPORTIF MAA)

Pierre Blanchet graduated from McGill University with a degree in Kinesiology and is an Exercise Physiology Specialist from the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology. During his schooling years Pierre has worked as an assistant for several research projects involving sport physiology and biomechanics.

Drafted by the Montreal junior hockey team, Pierre played with the McGill Redmen University hockey club, was a member of the McGill track & field club as a decathlete and competed as a professional tri-athlete, racing twice in the Hawaiian Ironman World Championship. Pierre was also part of the organizing committee for the World Triathlon Championship in Muskoka and has coached several professional and amateur tri-athletes including one World Champion (Andrew MacMartin).

Prior to working at the MAA, Pierre owned and operated a fitness consulting business for companies and individuals for 20 years in the downtown Montreal area. He also worked as director, fitness director and fitness consultant for downtown Montreal fitness centers throughout his career, organizing a series of triathlon races including MAA Corporate Triathlon.

Now the General Manager of Club Sportif MAA, Pierre has done a remarkable job in continuing the Club’s rich sporting history while improving its member service and profitability. The MAA’s stature and reputation made it the obvious choice for Cirque de Soliel and Reebok’s World-Wide launch of the increasingly popular Jukari program which continues to grow in popularity around the world.
