LORNA SMITH-CALDWELL
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT (Cambridge Group of Clubs)
GENERAL MANAGER (Toronto Athletic Club)

Lorna Smith-Caldwell began her professional career in hospitality in 1984 with Gourmet International, a Bermuda based restaurant group with three popular eateries in Hamilton, Bermuda. While with Gourmet, she was in charge of the Food and Beverage Operations and acted as General Manager, while overseeing PR and advertising for the company.

In early 1988, Lorna returned to Toronto where she managed Jamie Kennedys Palmerston Restaurant before transitioning to the Health Club business. In July of 1989, she was recruited by a Hospitality Search Firm looking for a "member service minded" person for an upscale Bay Street fitness and dining club. Lorna was the ideal candidate for the position and was hired as a Membership Sales representative at the prestigious Adelaide Club. Lorna eventually progressed to Director of Sales for the Adelaide Club, a title which she held for nine years until eventually becoming the Adelaide Clubs General Manager in April of 1999.

The Adelaide Club flourished under Lorna's leadership and when the Cambridge Group of Clubs partnership with the Fitness Institute came to end in 2003, Lorna was the natural choice to move over and manage the Cambridge Groups newly acquired Fitness Institute high atop the TD Waterhouse Tower, now named the Toronto Athletic Club.

Recently, Lorna has taken on further responsibilities as an Executive Vice President in charge of business development for the Cambridge Group of Clubs.
