Matt Cassells is a graduate from Brock University’s Kinesiology program and got his start in the service industry as the Food and Beverage Manager at Royal Niagara Golf Club in Niagara Falls, ON. He was responsible for overseeing and executing everything food and beverage for tournaments, weddings, special events and most notably the 2002 Telus Skins Game.
His first opportunity within the Cambridge Group of Clubs came in 2005 at the Adelaide Club as a fitness consultant. He was responsible for integrating new members into the Club through a one hour specialized coaching session.
After a brief time away from the CGOC, he was selected to be the Toronto Athletic Club’s membership and marketing director in January 2007. Together with his team and with a strong focus on member service he was able to grow the membership by 350 executive members and the Club now operates at capacity.
In March 2010, Matt’s role was expanded to include managing the day to day operations of the Club where he works closely with managers and staff to ensure the TAC continues to improve Club revenues while providing a luxury member experience.
He is now a part of the CGOC Executive/Operations committee |
